Hi.

Welcome!

Serenity in September

9/3 Bridging: Girl Scout Bridging was a blast!  It took me forever to decide what we should do, but I love the way it ended up!  I used the large flagstones we’d made into a path in our side yard at the old house, and made a curvy path that went between two large trees, and around our flower bed.  I put stakes in the ground saying each part of the girl scout law.  Then I used the rainbow satin fabric from Serenity’s third birthday.  I was just going to use it as a backdrop, but Serenity suggested that it would be more fun to walk through the rainbow, and I agreed!  We hung it as a curtain in between two trees, and the girls walked through the rainbow as they recited the girl scout law.  Then they got their new brownie sashes!  The girls played around in the yard and enjoyed some yummy and gorgeous cupcakes made by my sister.  They were perfect! =)

Back to School: Serenity was thrilled about going back to school.  I love that she’s still excited =)  2nd Grade!  It’s her last year downstairs, which is exciting and makes me want to cry a little.

Donovan and Serenity discovered emojis this morning. These are now the most used emojis on my phone ⚡️☣⚔

In September they had their first lemonade stand!  It was actually a Zoo-sponsored event.  They had kits you could take and use to raise money for the Lost Kingdom exhibit at the Zoo.  I was thrilled, because they had asked several times to have a lemonade stand, and they LOVE the big cats at the zoo, especially the tigers and snow leopards.  I was really proud of them.  I posted on our neighborhood site that they would be open for two hours, and they both stayed out there the entire time.  They didn’t have a lot of customers, and they persevered through boredom and stuck with it.  They did have a few visitors, mostly neighbors, and a nice visit from Rosario, Esteban and Ryan!  Serenity insisted on making the lemonade from scratch, and she did it!  She made the syrup, and squeezed lemons.  I did help with a few of those, but she did the rest.  It was tasty.
