Hi.

Welcome!

December 2nd: Music and Girl Scouts

December 2nd: Music and Girl Scouts Today's advent activity was music =) Jack and Patricia are doing this great Advent devotional that includes a song to sing each day, and it sounded like so much fun I downloaded it immediately!  So today we sang Joy to the World!  It was so much fun for us all!  Of course, after singing Joy to the World three times they wanted to sing Yoj to the world. =)  I also put together a new cd of Christmas music for the car, including Idina Menzel's holiday album.  The kids love it, and Serenity asks for it to be louder =)

Today was Serenity's girl scout meeting.  I think the meeting went really well!  We earned the blue bucket award for talking about feelings.  The girls brainstormed all kinds of feelings and put them in these blue buckets I found at Target.  While they were eating their snack and starting the next craft, Molly filled the buckets with tissue paper and lollipops.  Sort of sweet things growing from all the feelings they planted in their buckets =)  They made coffee filter flowers to put in their buckets as well, which they all loved.  Every girl made at least three flowers and it kept them happy and busy the rest of the time.  I read two books, which they also seemed to enjoy.  They were quiet and listened which was new and different =)  We are back inside of course since it turned chilly so it's a different dynamic.  I loved seeing them all talk about being bucket fillers, and giving their friends hugs and smiles to make them feel better.

Mom kept Maia for me while I was at Girl Scouts.  Maia actually got to nap as long as she wanted for once!  She was so excited to see Grandma =)  And to pilfer a lot of Grandma's lunch.  She stood on the chair right next to her and kept inching over until she was in her lap.  =)  Mom said she talked to her a lot more.  I think Grandma and Aunt Jen are turning her into a selfie addict though, because she brought me my phone and said "See picture?"   =)
