December 1st: Bear Hugs and Lego Advent
Our advent activity calendar this year began with Bear Hugs for Kendall Whittier. Because last year I waited a couple days and they ran out of tags! So this year we did it the first day =) We got a five year old girl who likes Hello Kitty and Peppa Pig. Serenity and Donovan went around the whole of Target with me finding treasures like Hello Kitty rainboots, a headband with kitty ears, a Peppa Pig playset, and a sleeping bag. We had reached my budget for gifting, when the kids found a Magic Water Doodle set in the craft aisle. I told them to choose between the art kit and the sleeping bag. And Serenity said, "I really think she needs both, can I use my own money?" And Donovan chimed, "Yes, I can use my money too!" =) So she gets it all. We wrapped the gifts together and they are all ready for delivery! (Oh, and Jennifer gave them the headbands today =)
We also started the kids Lego Advent. Serenity was so thrilled to find Anna in her bag! She is guessing that Elsa is tomorrow. We shall see =) Donovan got lego Star Wars and he is very excited too! =) Maia woke up asking for cookies so it was lucky I had put a cookie into the Advent Calendar for her since I didn't want to give her a sucker like I gave the other two. Jen kept Maia for me while I went to the doctor and took her on a looong walk all the way to Free Birds. Maia loved walking there and getting chips, getting back in the stroller, not so much. =)
