November 30th: Decorating!
We put up our Christmas tree over the weekend. Well, we moved furniture, put up the tree, moved the couch again, scooted the tree, moved the tree clear across the room, and then put the couch back in its original position. But I'm very happy with how it looks! The kids loved helping to decorate the tree. I had separated into three tubs ornaments that were special to each of them. Ones they had made, ones that had their picture in them, and some that they just chose as special. Like Serenity has Raegan's baby picture in her tub, and DZ has Barrett's and Grandma's. Maia's box had the tiny footprint we did the day she came home from the hospital, and looking at it now it doesn't even seem real!
Eric immediately changed Joy into Yoj and has the children doing the same =)
I put lights up outside too! Serenity and I were sitting in bed talking about our plans for the weekend, and I mentioned decorating. And Eric announced that it was time to look in "The Box." There was one box in the attic at our old house that said "CHRISSIE DO NOT OPEN!" Well, I took it out of the old attic, moved it to the new house, and up it went to our new attic. I did not peek. Well, when he went to get the box I was thinking, I sure wish it was lights. Wouldn't purple lights be fun. AND IT WAS! He got me purple Christmas lights! I strung them up in the maple tree in our front yard =) I also decorated the bushes and holly tree. I love it! Next year, icicle lights for sure.
