December 14th: Snowball fighting with Elsa
We pulled out our fake snowballs today, but we gave it a new twist! I bought Frozen decals and we scattered them around the living room area. Serenity was so excited to see them before she even got to the advent calender, she kept pointing and exclaiming in glee. Then they found the bucket of snowballs and we started running around the house throwing snowballs at Elsa, Anna, Sven, Kristoff and Olaf! It was fun, and it kept the kids from being frustrated about being targets themselves first thing in the morning before they're all the way awake. Later in the day I decided we hadn't had enough snowballs and I ambushed Eric. We had a very giggly half hour attacking each other, with Donovan occasionally joining in. And we got one more session in at the end of the day as I was cleaning up. Snowball fighting is more fun that picking up snowballs. And then we collected all the balls in a bucket to have avalanches. Those snowballs are worth every penny.
Today was a very important day for another reason... Thanks to Susie Dill, Eric saw ELF for the first time. I have been told, by people from all across the country, at various times, that Will Ferrell in Elf is just like Eric. Or, as Susie put it, like Eric at his Wainrightiest. And after watching it together, we all had to agree that it's pretty uncanny. =) The movie is hilarious and DZ and Serenity actually watched a lot of it with us! Very fun! Although Serenity cried when Buddy left the North Pole, for the most part she got it =)
