We get a new family game every December! Games get a lot of use at our house =) This year, we got two new things, a penguin counter set and a new set of magformers that have wheels so we can build cars!!! The penguin set is a math activity thing, there are a hundred penguins in ten different colors, and you can make patterns to match, or you can roll dice and collect that number of penguins, all kinds of different things. Serenity dived right into that one and made penguin rainbows and lots of patterns. Donovan wanted to start with the magformers, which was no surprise as he's been building with them a lot lately. Serenity and I went with Mom to see the movie Frozen in the afternoon. Oh it is such fun to get to go to movies! Serenity loved the movie, although there were times she sobbed noisy buckets of tears. She was very concerned by the large snow monster, and when Princess Anna was turning to ice she was very stressed out. She comes by that honestly though, as both Mom and I are unable to sit still through stressful parts of movies. She giggled a lot at all the snowman and reindeer antics. And she loved her icee, which was the perfect treat for a movie about frozen. She thought all the snow magic was beautiful, and told me the ice skating rink Queen Elsa made at the end was her favorite thing.
While we were at the movies, the boys played lots of games at the house. Puzzles, Zingo, and Daddy games. In the evening, all four of us played games together. We played Mermaid Island, Candyland, and Twister. Ok, I just spun the board for twister, but we all participated. =) And Donovan followed along on both board games beautifully!
