Donovan's Favorite Shows:Diego: This is the show that Donovan always asks for first. I think he uses it interchangeably for show sometimes, as after I get to the dvd player he'll tell me another show. But we definitely have watched more Diego than anything else this year. He really loves animals, especially jaguars and elephants. He always asks to visit the elephants at the zoo, sometimes more than once!
Boots/Dora: I think Donovan prefers Boots to Dora, but he has started watching this show recently.
Backyardigans (specific episodes). We go through periods where we watch a lot of Backyardigans. Donovan has specific shows he asks for. The first was Elephant Drop, of course since it has elephants. Then we watched a lot of surfs up, and I got to listen to him singing "surfs up, surfs up, ho daddy ho daddy oh." =) Then he shifted into Riding the Range and Horsing Around now that he is into cowboy stuff. And he has also started asking for Pirates and Special Delivery(motorcycles and a mail truck).
Sophia the First: I think he likes this show more than Serenity. He asked for "Fia" a lot, especially when we first got them. Now we've seen every episode they've made enough that he's moved on a bit (or back to Diego) but when we get more he likes those too.
Cars: His first full length movie! Although to be fair we have to skip four chapters that are too scratched to play, so we haven't actually watched it straight through. But he's asked for it several times now!
Ummm, I nearly forgot to list Elmo! His Elmo obsession is pretty much over these days, but he LOVED him for a long time! Papa taped us a few dvds of Elmo, and we watched clips at sesamestreet.org fairly often. We also bought two dvds that were mostly music. Lots of fun! We even went to see Sesame Street Live!
Favorite Food: I almost skipped this category, because I'm not sure Donovan actually likes food at all. Seems like he eats fewer and fewer foods every day instead of more! He eats breakfast a few times in the morning, a little lunch and then snacks after that. He almost never eats a real dinner. As for what he eats, well he does fairly well with breakfast foods. Eggs, oatmeal, and pancakes he will eat almost any time of day. He eats peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. He likes burritos and he used to eat quesadillas. Vegetable-wise, he's pretty much down to only broccoli and edamame. He will eat as many blueberries as I will allow him. He likes a lot of fruit actually, but I have to limit it or there are consequences. His favorite snack foods are cereals like cheerios, pretzels, cheesy crackers, and craisins. Oh, pizza and chicken nuggets and french fries are his main food requests.
Ice Cream. Yes, of course =) At least there's some calcium in there, right? Particularly strawberry milkshakes, vanilla frostys, and he has recently discovered cones. He is also a fan of chocolate and cookies like oreos and nillas.
