Hi.

Welcome!

Donovan is turning TWO! His Favorite Toys

It's time for Donovan's birthday updates!  I can hardly believe he's two years old already!  He has grown so much this last year!  He's a funny, talkative, sweet little boy!  He loves snuggling, especially with Mama.  Hugging his sister.  Flying with Daddy.  He's just amazing!  I like to write down some of his favorite things to summarize our wonderful year.  I'll start with his favorite toys! Donovan's Favorite Toys:

Legos:  Legos is definitely number one for Donovan for the last two months at least.  We play it every day.  He can entertain himself with it for a whole hour.  He often invites me to play legos with him too.  "Pay legos meee?" with a little pat to his chest to make sure I know I'm supposed to play with him.  He usually builds huge towers, and he carries them around to show them off.  He also builds a lot of airplanes, although they look like very tall rectangles most of the time, he proceeds to fly them around the house.  Daddy built him a big boat at one point that we kept together for a long time, and he'd put all our lego people in it.  We have lego figures for Daddy, Mama, Serenity and Donovan.  And Papa and Grandma too.  It's funny to hear him list all the people in whatever activity he has going.  "Lego Donovan rides the boat.  Lego Daddy rides the horsey.  Neigh!  Giddyup!"  He got a horse recently with the newest lego set we bought, and he didn't put that down for days.  One of the funniest things we started building was robots.  We got a book from Barrett called Robot Zot.  We'd build lego robots, and Donovan would say in a silly robot voice, "Robot Zot, never Fall, robot Zot, conquer all!"  He'd often drop Robot Zot while saying this and then Serenity and I would be in giggles.

IMG_6364 IMG_9066 Pillow Racers: This was absolutely my best toy purchase of the year.  That and the 5,000 dollar floor to roll them around on.  The kids use them every day, and joyfully race around the house.  Donovan used to try and steal Magical the Unicorn from Serenity, but lately he seems more attached to his dinosaur, and more concerned about it because it's his.  "Mine" is starting to be significant =)

Dinosaurs:  He's had a couple of stuffed dinosaurs for a while, and he also had a wooden dino puzzle.  Then we got some miniature dinos, and then he got five big beautiful dinosaur toys from Casey and Barrett for his birthday!  He loves all these guys!  These days he's all about the T-Rex, and roaring!

Trains/Cars:  He's gone through periods where we'd play trains every day, and then sometimes it's cars.  He has a great fire truck Ann got him on her last visit.  He loves the car track he has on his walls, and the little cars that go with that.

Elephants:  Elephants have been one of his favorite animals for a long time!  Mom got him a set of counting elephants at Christmas that have been one of the toys that he's used the most.  He loves making elephant noises (braloo!) and pretending that his arm is an elephant trunk.

Red Car/Bike/Horsey Ride on Toys:  We take rides around our neighborhood!  Donovan used to just ride his red car, but he always longed to take a turn on Serenity's bike.  Then Carson passed down a perfect little tricycle that has a handle we can push, and he loves that.

Car, Sword, Balloon. Perfect Fun.

Hammer:  Things to whack with are very fun.

Using tools like Daddy =)

Wooden Puzzles:  He's just gotten to the point where he can easily put them together.  For most of the year he just played around with the wooden dinosaur pieces and the wooden tool pieces.

Bubbles:  We got the most awesome bubble blowers for Easter, and they quickly became a favorite.
