Donovan likes books! It's been interesting to see this develop this year. The very first book he loved reading was Pete the Cat. His next few favorites were Oh My, Oh My, Oh Dinosaurs, and when he started being interested I read these a lot of course! Then, at the school book fair, we got Dinosaur Roar. It had a button that made a roaring sound. Oh my goodness, I read that every day for months! After that he started to branch out more and more. He still loved the books with texture, like Puppies, Trucks, and How Do You Tickle a Tiger. He is drawn to books with animals, especially animal sounds like Polar Bear, Polar Bear, What Do You Hear? These days, he still lets me read to him, but he prefers to sit next to me with his own book that he's "reading." It's very exciting that he likes to hold the books himself and look through them alone! One of his very favorites is the Number book. It's one of those books that is mainly large photos. One Red Apple. Two Shiny Lizards. Between Donovan and Serenity I must have read it two hundred times. I don't get the appeal but it is undeniable. =)
