Whoops, I forgot to update for a few days! Well, today's advent was to watch movies together and eat popcorn. We didn't start the movies until afternoon, however, and because of this we got in a totally wonderful morning of crafts! Serenity and Donovan made a handprint tree for Eric! Serenity was pretty sure Daddy needed a Christmas tree craft. =) Donovan loved me painting his hand (tickling) and then giving the canvas five. He did not like me trying to dip his fingers in the paint to make ornaments though. Serenity did a great job with each of the steps, stamping hands, painting the yellow star, and using her finger to make the aqua ornaments. Then we did some leaf rubbing trees, while Donovan colored with Color Wonder. He ended up with a pretty cute tree there too! I drew the triangle for him and he decorated it. =) Serenity ended up doing color wonder as well!
In the afternoon we watched our favorite Christmas specials, including the new Backyardigans Christmas dvd that I bought. Action Elves! Tiny Hammers! We watched Diego, which Donovan is really identifying with lately. Diego has a jaguar too, and the other day he enjoyed watching all the jaguar episodes. He loves his jaguar and gives him kisses. =) We also watched Dora's Christmas and Curious George. After Eric got home we rented the Search for Santa Paws on Amazon and made a nice nest in front of the computer. Serenity sat and watched the whole thing, which was amazing as she doesn't often seem to sit through live action movies all the way through. Maybe we can start enjoying more movies! However, several parts of this movie stressed her out and made her cry. Reminded me of Grandma Diane. And me to be perfectly honest. =) We also enjoyed fancy popcorn from the popcorn store here! Pumpkin Pie, Kettle, and Butter flavors. Donovan loved the popcorn, and snuggled throughout the various shows. =)
