Hi.

Welcome!

December 8th: Baking and Soccer

December 8th:  Baking Day Serenity and I baked some cookies together to get ready for tomorrow's cookie party.  She wanted to do cut out cookies, so we tried the Pioneer Woman's recipe.  It was pretty tasty, although I think I made the icing too sweet with the lemon emulsion.  She loved decorating her gingerbread girls and boys with m&ms and sprinkles for their faces and clothes!  We didn't end up with enough of those for the party, so I baked some pumpkin toffee cookies and some chocolate cherry kisses.  I really liked the chocolate cherry, that might need to be added to my repertoire.  And Eric loved the maraschino cherries =)

The best part of the day though was definitely soccer.  The kids love it!  Although Donovan tried to break over to Serenity's side of the field.  Serenity played a great game called Stealing the Sleeping Pirate Treasure.  They set up a ton of cones that were the "trees" the pirates were sleeping in.  So they had to dribble balls around the cones to get them from the pirate's ship to their ship.  Such good practice!  And then after they got all the treasure they woke up the pirates by kicking over the trees and scaring them away.  Serenity also loves waking up Fred, the mouse that lives in the wall, by kicking the ball at the wall.  I loved Red Light, Green Light, because they added Yellow Lights, Night Lights, and Strobe Lights (where you dance!)  Donovan loves kicking and chasing after the ball already, and you could hear him talking about "soccer!" and "goal!" and "I did it!!!"  all day long.

Carson had soccer class just after we did, so we got to visit with them for a bit.  Both of my kids rushed Raegan to give her hugs.  Donovan just hugged her again and again!  Serenity also tried to hug Carson, which was kind of funny.  I know he wants to be greeted too, but maybe not quite as enthusiastically as Serenity tends to. =)  We watched his class for a bit, and he is FAST!

Besides that, we did a bit of shopping, Eric and Serenity for my Christmas present, and Donovan and I shopped for some craft supplies and a white shirt for our family pics.
