Donovan is doing so many fun things! He really likes sitting up to play now, and is doing really well with it. He’ll still flop over occasionally, most often when he dives for a toy though. He can pass stuff hand to hand, and has according to Eric all this week, although I just noticed it two days ago when we were playing with the gear toy. He loves books too…to eat! Reading him a book is like trying to wrestle. Too funny. I know Serenity chewed on books too, and I have proof if I look at Peek-a-who, but with Donovan it’s almost like a sport. I pretty much have to recite everything for now. If I read to him during tummy time it’s a little easier, and he does like looking at the pages. He’s starting to reach for people when he wants them. He even went to one of Eric’s coworkers. He has the sweetest giggle and absolutely loves it when Serenity jumps. He still does that one little eyebrow quirk which is too adorable. Last night I thought he was tired kind of early, so I took him up to bed to feed him. He ate for a few minutes, then popped off, looked at me, and just laughed and laughed like I was the funniest thing he’d ever seen, or maybe that he had no intention of going to bed, I don’t know. =) He still hardly ever fusses, and usually when it does it’s just a signal for naptime. He does three naps a day still, and goes down easily for them. We sometimes have to snuggle for a while at actual bedtime, and he still gets up in the night for food. I’m not sure that he’s that hungry, but he at least makes some noise, and once I’m up I usually just feed him so I can sleep. =)

When Donovan wants your attention, usually to be picked up or sat up these days, instead of crying, he waves his arms up and down dramatically with this expression on his face like, “what the heck am I doing down here? Hello? Hello?” So cute =)

Donovan has a tooth! The first one just poked through his gums. He didn’t fuss at all! He’s been gnawing on stuff for a month and drooling, but I was totally taken by surprise because he’s still so calm =) He has been playing with his ears some, so maybe it is hurting, but he just snuggles contentedly.

Donovan has added consonants to his conversations! Da da da da and ta ta ta. His second tooth is starting to make an appearance as well, and he still chews on everything in sight, particularly his crayons. We have four rubbery crayons: red, yellow, green and blue. We keep one in each room we frequent so he always has one to chew on. =)
When I pick Donovan up these days he wraps his arms tight around my neck. It’s so sweet, even when he manages to grab my hair. He’s still a cuddler, and lets me hold him close and rock him back and forth.
