DZ Winter 2025: Mathcounts, TSA, Robotics, and Diabetes Anniversary
Donovan is having an absolutely amazing year for clubs. He is trying everything at the middle school! He went to Mathcounts, Robotics, Chess, and TSA all fall and then it was competition time! He seems to love Mathcounts the most, and he and his friends Aaron and Bipul practice math for fun. He’s been doing extra practice daily even though this season is over because he wants to do even better next year!
DZ got 5th at Mathcounts Regionals!!! And he gets to be on the All Star team at state! And he and three of his best friends were in the top seven individuals at the tournament. He said he has good friends 🥰🤩
He loved state for Mathcounts, and was so close to finals! And he qualified for state in TSA and that is coming up in April! He thought he didn’t do well, but the debate he wrote for he and his teammate Aaron went well! They got 2nd in Challenging Tech issues! Aaron and Bipul are my favorites as they talked DZ into taking several selfies with their medals.
TSA regionals was all the way in Miami Oklahoma! They rode the bus more than an hour to get there. Dropping him off at 6:15 brought back all sorts of debate tournament memories.
The end of February is the anniversary of his diabetes diagnosis. It’s hard to believe it’s been five years since DZs diabetes diagnosis! He is an amazing guy 🥰 I decorated his corner which made him giggle and got him a pink shirt that says Sarcasm, it’s how I hug that he loves. Plus some new green and pink ping pong paddles. 🤩. He doesn’t always eat like a teenager but he can devour a lot of Blooming Onion at Outback. Then the next day he and his partner Aaron won 2nd in Challenging Tech Issues at Regionals! Yay DZ!
The corner is still up a month later. He loves it!
TSA, Mathcounts, Diabetes Anniversary Day
He actually loves this shirt, no sarcasm about that. He wears it often!
I love this pic because he wouldn’t tell me what he was reading but when threatened with a pic of his face he covered it so I sneakily got my answer. ;)
