Serenity's 15th Birthday Update! SOOOO LATE!
When I went back to look at last year’s update, I discovered I didn’t make one! We were en route to Sweden on her birthday and I never went back! So this update will be two years of fun! When she turned 15, she had just finished middle school! She loved her drama classes with Ms. Michele, and enjoyed Odyssey of the Mind at school. Her team even got to go to worlds in Michigan! She’s reading mostly fanfiction, and enrolled in a creative writing class for next year. She snuggles up and plays lots of ipad games, sometimes with her sibbies. She says they are her best friends, which I love SO much!! I am so lucky to be her mama!
July 2022: Sera’s 14th Axolotl Spa Party! She got a haircut and fun bath goodies from Ulta, and got her ears pierced!
July 2022: Serenity finally gets her earrings, after several Mama fails ;)
Sera wanted to go to Urban Air for part of her birthday! She had a blast, especially on the zipline!
Summer 2022: Sera did 49.5 volunteer hours at the library! And Maia got a dog that we all love! Sera is snuggling Finn in her medieval fair dress, so I had to include it in her update!
August 2022: Schedule pickup day for my 8th grader! Lots of nerves but also excitement! She got in Performance Drama!!! 🤩
Back to School 2022!
September 2022: Sera's 8th grade picture! 😊 With her axolotl earrings, loops, and purse she never takes off 😍
Tie dye day! Sera says this is Tie-DIY since we dyed the top ourselves 😜
October 2022: The kids and Eric surprised me by dressing up as Spirit Island characters to celebrate our successful completion of our spirit island chart! Sera chose Thunderspeaker =)
Halloween 2022: Sera did a little butterfly dress up, and then got some facepaint from our neighborhood festival before trick-or-treating!
November 2022: We had a busy and fun weekend! Sera performed at the open house for her voice/drama studio, and she rocked! She sang Set It All Free! I got her new earrings to celebrate and they matched her shirt perfectly! Three Moons 😉
December 2022: Our amazing Hogwarts and Disney trip! Sera loved it all, especially her Phoenix friend Joy, and dancing around the Magic Kingdom with me while her siblings rode the scary rides!
December 2022: Sera’s recital was today! She sang Hallelujah and performed a hilarious monologue. She was amazing! I’m so grateful to Michele Ross Studios for nurturing her confidence and talent!
Christmas 2022: Sera LOVED that I put all her names on her Christmas Float of Presents. Lumi, Lumine, Sera, Serenity, Serenity D! She also LOVED this hooded blanket cloak. She wore it everywhere until it fell apart!
January 2023: Sera put her bean bag and a cozy blanket in a box to make a nest. She slept in this… for a very long time! She kept adding more animals to make it cozier ;)
January 2023: We finally got to see Sera perform as young Jane Eyre!!! It’s so good to see her doing what she loves!

Odyssey Regionals! My sweet Athena. They learned a LOT from this performance!
March 2023: Odyssey State! Sera’s Odyssey team won second place!!! They improved so much, it was just thrilling to watch 🥰 They earned a spot at worlds!
Sera: “I’ve decided a hot glue gun is basically a discount flamethrower.”

Easter 2022: Lava Bunnies! The kids love watching the Floor is Lava! Watching them coordinate the lava bunny hunt was epic!
April 2023: Sera got bangs! She looks so cute! But also grown up!
April 2023: Today Sera sang a song she WROTE! She had a coffee shop show with Michele Ross Studios! She was glowing!!! Her teacher heard her singing part of the song to herself as she was waiting her turn for her lesson, and she encouraged her to refine and perform it! Michele wrote this post: “Some days are just special… Lately I’ve been doing more songwriting commissions, and this one was with my student, the effervescent Serenity D. Wainright! We will debut it this coming Sunday at our Studio Row a-Sigh-e show… STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFO!”
May 2023: Sera and I are off on our Odyssey! she finished tetrising her props and had the inspiration to label the car 🤩 We drove through Missouri and Indiana on our way to Michigan! She still loves road trips!
May 2023: Sera with her pin towel from Odyssey Worlds! Pin trading is SO FUN!
Long problem is done!!! No penalties and they got credit for all the requirements!! Such great improvement over the course of their first year! I love it! 🤩. Also pin trading is epic. And the towel capes work 🥰🤩
Graduation 2023: Sera graduated middle school! I gave her the book with all her teacher’s signatures starting with Ms. Parent in EC to celebrate.
June 2023: For her birthday this year Sera’s getting a room refresh! She LOVES the sunset ombre paint treatment!
June 2023: Colorado Road Trip! Maia and Sera had a blast trying to match the statues! We went to the Denver Zoo, the Denver Natural History Museum, Mesa Verde, and Four Corners with Papa!
June 2023: We took a road trip with Papa to take DZ to diabetes camp. Sera loved it!
July 2023: We saw a fox family! In Chicago!!!
July 2023: Sera’s birthday was during our road trip to Chicago to fly to Sweden! We made sure to get birthday donuts, and she loved Sloomoo and seeing the Bean in Chicago.
Whew! Finally caught up! =)
