Road Trip Day 3: Bayous and Gators!
Day 3, Bayous and Gators 🙂
The road trip was full of silly jokes, including my favorite. “Hey Donovan, look by you! Bayou!” 😂😂😂. We went hiking at Kisatchie National Forest to enjoy the terrain. It was beautiful, full of pine trees that made a soft bed to walk on. Maia ran a dnd campaign while we walked, with Eric and Sera pretending to roll numbers with a random number generator in their brains. Eric wasn’t doing so well, and then he said “oh! I rolled a fifteen!” With actual surprise 😂
After the hike, next on the list was seeing alligators. The first place I’d planned to visit wasn’t open Mondays, but after some scrambling I found another alligator sanctuary right by our hotel! The girls got to hold snakes, a bearded dragon, and baby alligators! They even got to catch the alligators themselves! It was very cool. They also fed big alligators hot dogs on strings. DZ preferred mammals and spent most of the visit petting a cat.
So much fun!!! I’m excited to plan our next adventure.
Another favorite road trip joke, we were excited to get Many Nachos.
I had been pronouncing the name of the town phonetically, Natchitoches…. Turns out it’s something like Nack-a-tosh. 🤷♀️😂
