Miss Maia came over for an afternoon of cooking and playing with Max and Kate!
We made pumpkin spice donuts, homemade chicken nuggets, garlic and Parmesan edamame and pumpkin pie spice rice crispy treats
Maia has dried slime in her hair…. I think an entire batch . She told me last night she accidentally got some slime I her hair but I did not understand the extent of the situation
*** edited to add. 3 long episodes of Wild Kratts while rubbing vegetable oil and then combing it through her hair, then rinsing, conditioning, and then shampooing…. Her hair is looking pretty clean at last . I asked her what she learned and she would only go as far as… “maaaaybe don’t put slime in your hair?” She didn’t want to commit to that promise
Kid had to change her password at school today, then promptly forgot it. Can’t log in to turn in her work. I sympathize as I have totally done this. She tries the forgot password link thing, manages to change MY password to something completely ridiculous . Defeated by Blackbaud
Maia went from a balance bike to riding without training wheels in about a week this year! So fun!
Felt so organized this morning, checked so many things off this list! Got to school and realized I should have written “take off house shoes” on the list. . The book fair is coming along though
Never fails, the mornings you need coffee the most is the day you pour boiling water on the counter. This is why Starbucks rules the universe.
I went with Abbey to a Marching Band Competition. It was incredible! We got to see B’s band, and they did an amazing job, and there were so many other cool performances. I loved it!
DZ finds the most interesting ways to sleep. He just loves his giant ball friend.
KaLynn came by with baby Copelynn and Zander! So much fun to see them!!!
Maia got her turn with a Grandma sleepover. They baked in her cool silicone muffin cups Grandma got her. She finds the coolest baking gear for Maia!
Serenity usually chooses art for sleepovers at Grandma’s.

We got a new dishwasher. And Maia got a new box Papa commented on this post that it “Reminds me of another little girl back in 1980 -- in between the two front seats of the family's brown van.”
November 4th: Maia started at Jenks today! Send her some love
Family walk to school for the first day
Maia was thrilled that her first day at the new school was Dress Like A Book Character Day. She got to wear her snitch costume again!!! Such a fun start, and her new teacher is wonderful!!!
November 8th: Donovan gets to go back to school today! This one is a little scarier . This is his preferred first day picture.
November 9:
Morning walk to school! Yes, Maia read the whole way, but I made her look up to cross streets . She says “It’s fiiiine Mama”
November 10: Refilled my hall bookshelf with a bunch of social/emotional picture books I’ve collected lately. Maia’s already run off with Ruby Finds a Worry
November 15: Plenty of time to read before school! Shelly Duncan McCollum did you know the Keeper of the Lost Cities author has another series? DZ says it’s just as good! Sky Fall series
**edited to add… Donovan did not feel he had enough reading time before school . He was not happy to put down his book
November 22nd: Maia says two thumbs and two feet up for this book! She asked me to get the rest of the series at the library! (Maker Comics)
November 24th: We are doing our Thanksgiving a day early Maia wrote she is thankful for her family, friends, teachers, her school, house, her agility, her reflexes, electronics, and oxygen . I think she covered it!
I’m so thankful for Maia!!!
Serenity had a wonderful sleepover with Ava! And they wrote some Harry Potter Fanfiction! So exciting =)

Sibling Snuggles
Maia sometimes sneaks up to Serenity’s room to cuddle with her sis. Eric found her up there when she was feeling a little nervous about the first day of school. Love them!!!
We hadn’t been to the zoo in a long time! Maia’s friend Annie invited us for her birthday, and it was wonderful to see all our USchool friends and hang out at the zoo! There was a new baby tiger and it was adorable! We celebrated our first zoo visit in a long while with new stuffies. DZ got a tiger, of course, Serenity got a red panda she named Sequoia, and Maia got a peacock. So sweet!
Serenity got a second set of school pictures! I love that she wore her “I’d rather be at Hogwarts shirt” She was excited to be in her new yearbook and the smile is so great =)
