Maia Virtual School
Maia did very well with virtual school! After the first week or so she could easily log into Seesaw and find all her work from her main teachers! I would let her know when it was time to Zoom for Science or Chinese and she could handle that too! I think her favorite things were doing the science experiments Dr. Hamby set up for her. She would zoom right off to do them right after class! She even did a few experiments posted for Donovan’s class! She also loved storytime with Mrs. McCollum! She loved all the videos Mrs. Widdoes posted, and they often inspired fun playtime later. She was nervous at some of the chapter books Mrs. Elliott was reading, Junie B Jones is a little too awkward for her tastes, but she loved reading her own books and telling Mrs. Elliott about them. But absolutely the best thing for her was getting to sleep in! Her teachers planned all kinds of fun things. Mrs. Elliott sent a flat Mrs. Elliott for the kids to read and take pictures with. Mrs. Widdoes mailed everyone a hug, her handprints and string to wrap around them. Mrs. Carter planned virtual field trips that Maia loved. And the last week of school was filled with fun games and activities, from Zoom scavenger hunts and dance parties, to a costume day and treats! They delivered bags of school stuff and a last day snack to every student! I love the P1 teachers so much, it’s so hard to believe this is my last year in that commons!!! We snuck over to school to take end of year pictures with the USchool sign. =)
Filling out her pet rock science sheet! She named two of her rocks Sprinkles and Flame.
Maia did this self portrait for Spanish! It’s my favorite! Feliz!

Storytime with Mrs. McCollum
One of Maia’s teachers read a story about a boy who could weave cloth out of clouds. The illustrations were gorgeous, and included faces on hills and mountains, so Maia made a surprised face in our yard. she made several others too but this was her favorite =)
Reading her deer story aloud for Creative Producers at home =)
Mrs. Elliott had a scavenger hunt! Cinnamon was the perfect find for a cuddly toy!
Mrs. Widdoes delivered goodies and Maia’s school projects and locker stuff! Serenity had to hold Maia back from running out, they thought that was hilarious. But they wanted her to know they love her!
Origami day with Mrs. Gore!
Costume party day!!!
We found out Mrs. Carter is retiring!!! So we had to do something special =) She loved seeing all the kids coloring pages they made for her!
