Donovan Virtual School
Virtual School DZ
Donovan did well with virtual school, although he definitely misses being around people! Fortunately for us, his Zoom meetings were scheduled first thing in the morning, and he is my one kid that actually wakes up at a reasonable hour. He would go to his morning Zoom, and then he worked hard to get all his work done so he could have electronics time with friends afterwards. He’s really good at getting things done! He really enjoyed the book his class read, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon. He had a hard time not reading ahead! Mrs. Johnson gave them wonderful project choices so he made a beautiful painting and a lantern with Dragon on it, our own little Creative Producers. He actually loved it when assignments got moved to Seesaw, less handwriting issues. He is learning beautiful cursive writing, and he loved all the quotes his teacher gave him to practice with. His teachers were rock stars, they handled the move online so well I genuinely think they could teach the whole country. He got excellent lessons on civics, geography, interesting discussions on books, and great support in math. They did a really great job encouraging community too, and the last week of school was full of fun! They had a crazy hat Zoom meeting, scavenger hunts, movie day (which DZ skipped, we are not movie people) and a dress up Zoom. So much fun!!

Donovan was all over the static electricity lesson, which he had learned earlier in 2nd grade. Nice to know it stuck with him .
Happy Cinco de Mayo!!! Our Spanish teacher posted a fun activity for us, the Mexican Hat Dance! It is VERY good exercise too . We did it again for PE. Donovan loved it the most =)
Farm Zentangle Art! One of their fun activities for Charlotte’s Web
It wasn’t required but Donovan still completed his Tower of Books! It was a really fun way to try out different genres!
His sweet teacher brought goodies for the last week of school fun and his yearbook! Yay!

DZ used the couch for a lot of his virtual schooling =)
