December 22nd: Barrett's Birthday!

Barrett’s birthday!  The kids all slept in this morning…Serenity till 8, then DZ. Maia slept until nearly 10 am!  It was amazing and very odd.  The plan for today was to go hang out with cousins!  It was Barrett’s birthday.  We met at Jason’s Deli for a lunch all my kids ate (because they wanted the free ice cream).  We were originally going to ice skate, but it was raining so Barrett chose Sky Zone instead.  The kids spent an hour jumping.  DZ never left the other boys side.  He played dodgeball and informed me that he only cried in his mind when he got hit in the face with the ball, and “you’ve gotta shake those things off.”  Lol.  He doesn’t shake them off at home but I’m glad he was able to enjoy the game! 

Serenity and Maia had the most fun in the marshmallow pit.  They jumped in so many times!  Serenity bounced really high before she leaped in.  I started to video her and then she did a flip before landing!  I was so surprised!  Good time to decide to video =)  Maia tried to do everything the big kids did, of course.  Her flip looked more like diving headfirst but she was having a blast! 

In the evening, we watched some of our home movies from the last two years.  I didn’t get around to making a dvd last year, but I’m all caught up now.  Maia kept marveling, “That’s me!”  =)  Love her.

I was talking about the plan for the day while we were snuggling in the morning, and I said, “we’re going to celebrate Barrett’s lunch”  Of course I meant we were going to celebrate Barrett’s birthday with lunch, but Eric went on and on about celebrating his lunch in one of his never ending comic riffs.  Serenity finally said, “Daddy just never quits does he?”  Eric and I were laughing too hard to answer. =)
