December 16th: Nutcracker, Destiny and Jedis

December 16th: Nutcracker!

Today Serenity and I met some of our girl scout friends at the Nutcracker!  They had a behind the scenes experience and a little dance class to help the girls earn their Brownie Dancer badge!  The ballet was beautiful and I loved getting some special time with my girl.  We extended our fun with dinner at Olive Garden and then we picked up Maia from Papa’s house, delivering some soup and salad to him too =)

Donovan and Daddy, meanwhile, went to Covenant!  DZ got to play in his first Destiny tournament!  He really impressed everyone there, keeping his attention on the game for hours.  He played four games and won one!  One person told Eric his kids are 15 and 17 and say they can’t focus long enough to play Destiny. =)  He is definitely his father’s son. 

Oh, I nearly forgot!  In the morning Eric and the kids finished their first Star Wars Trilogy.  Episode 3 as Serenity chose numerical order over the order they were made in.  She watched the whole thing!  It was amazing as I would have guessed she'd have to run away at the fight between Obi and Anakin at least!  She cried but not uncontrollably.  Maia asked what was going on several times and the response was "Anakin is making some really bad choices."  ;)

The kids had a sleepover in Maia’s room, and Eric and I snuck upstairs to assemble a BIG surprise from Papa. =)
