Today was completely awesome!  I invited Serenity’s class over to make chocolate and about half of them came, some with siblings!  We went through 9 pounds of sugar, two and a half boxes of butter, 120 ounces of chocolate chips and even more candy melts.  And best of all, nearly all that candy went home with the kids so I have only a little left! =)

After =)  They didn't go for cake pops or dried fruit but I used every bag of candy melts, all the regular chocolate chips, and most of the white chocolate.

Using the hot water bath and canning jars made it really simple to work on chocolates throughout the day!

I found candy molds on sale so every family got to take a mold full of candies home with them.  They filled them with the vanilla flavored colored candies or the regular chocolate candy, or a fun swirl of both!  We had sprinkles too.  I bought craisins but no one wanted fruit in their chocolate.

I also had a little chocolate pot with stuff to dip.  I had four quarts of strawberries (I think Wren dipped an entire quart by herself!)  rice krispie treats, dried mango (I may have been the only one to do this but it was DELICIOUS) and pretzels.  Oh, and Joseph asked if he could dip oreos and that was a great idea!  We had a lot of fun with that!

The kids spent most of their candy energy filling molds, but I had also bought enough ingredients for them to each make fudge.  So I ended up making most of the fudge myself and just asking them what flavor they’d like, and everyone got to take a batch home.  Mattea made her own fudge, and some dairy-free fudge for Kayla, and Joseph made his own batch too.  Lillyan came at the end and she actually did the whole process almost entirely by herself, which was cool.  I had lots of different extracts for flavoring.  Lillyan chose the orange and I think that was my favorite spoon that I tasted.  We also had almond, maple, coconut (also in the running for my favorite) and mint (which I didn’t try ;)

At one point I realized I hadn’t seen Maia and Katherine in a while.  When four year olds are quiet long enough for you to finish four batches of fudge....  🤔. I can’t imagine why I wasn’t suspicious sooner. They took every book and toy in DZs room piled into a “monster”  😂 😂 😂

I think the best part of the day though was seeing all the kids play together so well!  I didn’t have to intervene the entire day, so if they disagreed they worked it out themselves and they weren’t loud enough for me to hear it.
