Dancing: Serenity loves to dance! Her current favorite movie, Beauty and the Beast, has sparked several adorable dancing moments. She’ll choose a partner, frequently her teddy bear or the Super Readers, and spin in circles around the room in a sweet little waltz. She is also fascinated by Mama’s Zumba dvd, and has even asked to watch it a few times when I wasn’t even exercising. She likes it when they say “single, double, single, double” and a few times she’s waved her arms in the air just like we do for that move. She also tried doing a “booty circle” which is basically where we make a circle with our hips. It was too funny watching her put her hands on her hips and try to shake them =)
Library: We go to the library nearly every week after music class, and Serenity loves getting new books to read. Mostly I choose them for her while she climbs on the little child-sized chairs and tables they have in the kid’s section. We joined the summer reading program and already earned a medal and a coupon book. At this age of course we could easily read twenty books in one day, so I have just been writing down the books we get at the library. And we visited the required four times already.
Visiting Daddy at Work (5!): If the weather doesn’t permit going to the park, we take lunch to Daddy at work on Tuesdays. Serenity knows what floor Daddy is on (5!) and likes to push the elevator buttons. She is not too interested in visiting with Daddy’s coworkers, except she likes Ben a lot. She loves playing with the foosball table, looking out the window and seeing all the cars, and coloring on the white board. She also likes climbing stairs with Daddy.
Secret Room: Papa built Serenity a secret room in her closet, and she still loves playing with it! She will announce that it’s time to go to the secret room, and spends a lot of time in there playing with her ball pit balls, or her magnet board, or just snuggling on pillows with her stuffed animals and dolls.
