Hi.

Welcome!

Serenity in November

Serenity in November: Fancy hair for school picture day

My Serenity snuggles =) I still get them most mornings =)

Serenity and I went to see Moana in the theater!  We both loved the movie.  Serenity sobbed through most of it and laughed often through her tears.  Poor baby.  About ten minutes into the movie the dad yells at Moana for getting too close to the water, and she started crying, and my heart sank a little.  But she says she loved it even if it did make her weepy.  I thought it was really exciting and Moana is an awesome character.

Lots of fun Girl Scout events this month!  We went to the discovery lab to supplement our water journey.  Serenity read all the exhibits in the water area.  We made nature mandalas at our November meeting to complete our Outdoor Artist badge.  I thought they were beautiful!  And they also attended the T.U. Stem event.  Lots of fun science experiments.  And I learned some things about physics =0

Discovery lab with girl scout friends =)

Studying physics... how having more weight near the center makes you go faster, and having out wide like this slows you down.

Serenity has been studying pretty diligently for the spelling bee.  She got first place in her class spelling bee, so now she’s working for the school bee.   I was reading Serenity some of the spelling words from the 8th grade list out of curiosity, and she immediately spelled "toccata" correctly. I said, "Wow, where did you learn about toccata." And she responded "MAMA, in music class! Toccata in Fugue in D Minor, Bach's creepy Halloween song! What else would we talk about during Bachtober!" So... I guess she pays attention to Mrs. Call We have a lot of fun quizzing each other on spelling words.

Working on her poster for her book report about Eclipses.

We visited the orthodontist.  And we will be going back.  A lot.  She has my teeth.  But he had us pull a couple of baby teeth to make way for the big teeth that are coming in soon in front, so hopefully they can come in a little straighter.    We will just see, I am so not a fan of braces.
