December 8th: Cookie Service Project with Daisy Scouts
Today Troop 44 was invited to our house to bake cookies to donate to a holiday party being hosted by the Junior League for Resonance, Tulsa. The girls did a great job! I had all the ingredients and tools lined up on the counter, and a pile of recipes. The girls begged to make sugar cookies with cookie cutters, and so we did. One girl read the recipe and each girl went to get one of the ingredients. They took turns measuring, stirring, mixing, and rolling out the dough. It got out of control after a while, but they were all enjoying themselves and doing service at the same time. And not eating all the cookies they baked was definitely a challenge! They each had just one to taste test, and the rest will be delivered tomorrow. Besides the cut out cookies, I had some snickerdoodle dough chilling that they enjoyed rolling in cinnamon sugar. Later in the evening, Lillyan and Abby came by and they did a batch of M&M cookies. It was so much fun!!! Donovan tasted all the cookies and declared them all delicious. Maia wanted so badly to play with Katherine, hugging and kissing her, but then she did her running hug, which works just fine with Mama and Daddy and even Serenity and DZ, but knocked poor Katherine right over. So I put on a Paw Patrol for her, but everytime the show stopped, she would ninja sneak into the chaos. I suspect she ate cookie dough, and I found her once with a collection of three raw eggs. So I sincerely hope she didn't stash any anywhere else in the house. But I think all the kids enjoyed this activity!
