Hi.

Welcome!

December 7th

Today’s plan was to make a new ornament for the Christmas tree!  I love doing crafts and Serenity and I are just getting to the point where we can do them together!  In the Advent Calendar was a new penguin ornament with a picture of Serenity from this year.  She declared it “ooooh pretty!” and I hung it on the tree.  After a little bit of playtime, we went shopping at Michael’s together.  I took her to the wooden ornament section, and she picked out the snowflake shape from all her choices, over Santa, reindeer, snowmen, etc.  We took it home and she got to decorate it using markers!  This was her first marker experience.  I gave her the red, and she requested the blue, so it is really her own design.  She did mark on her snowflake and on the paper quite deliberately.  She also loved putting the caps on and taking them back on, and general sorting of the markers.  After she was ready to get down, I asked her if she wanted to hang it on the tree.  She put it on the tree all by herself and said “ohh pretty!  and WOW!!”  It was too cute. =)  She took it off and put it back on many times.  It’s nice that she’s putting ornaments back on occasionally instead of just taking them off =)  Grandma came over for dinner and Serenity enjoyed showing off her ornament.  And she found the book “In Grandma’s Arms” and brought it to Grandma to read!  Amazing!  Mom had even given her that book for her birthday, although I imagine she chose it because of the Grandma.December 7th2009_forweb
