12/9Maia waves now! She used to sort of raise her hand in a little greeting, but it is now improved to a definite wave. And it's SOOO cute!
12/18 Maia is a year old today! The year has flown by. She's such a sweet and snuggly baby. Just yesterday she gave me kisses for the first time =) I love those first open mouth little kisses. She also added a few new words to her vocabulary. Yesterday we were reading Dotty and she said "berries!" Berries are her absolute favorite food, especially strawberries, so this was perfect. She also said "parade" when we were reading the Christmas Parade, her favorite book. Serenity is actually reading the Christmas Parade to her while I try to get her 12 month pictures in the chair.
I have started writing her birthday posts, but I think I'll wait to post them closer to her party, which we scheduled for January. That way they don't get lost in Daily December and Christmas posts. For today I'll just share her journal and some pictures we took of her in her rocking chair =) Maybe you can help me decide which is the cutest!
This morning I made strawberry muffins with whipped cream icing so we could wish Maia a happy birthday on her actual birthday. She did not understand at all =) She grabbed the whipped cream to try and eat the strawberry on top, but the feel of the cream was so strange she just kept squishing it and rubbing it in her hair. Pretty adorable. Then when I gave her a bit of my muffin that was plain she seemed to say, "hey, this is food, I've had this before!" and she actually took a bite and then ate some of the bits that she'd squished before. I think she liked it!
