Today was new Christmas book day! I went a little nuts this year, I bought several new frozen books, the Disney Christmas Collection, Bear Stays Awake, and a random little Reindeer board book for Maia. My Christmas book collection is going to be insane at this rate. But I love them =) My voice was still a little hoarse but I managed to read a New Reindeer Friend and the other Frozen Christmas story. Later in the day I was able to get more voice out so I read the board books to Donovan and Maia several times. I just love snuggling and reading with my kids! And now Serenity offers to read to me too. Bliss =)
We managed to get the peach trees decorated today! I pruned a bit and then strung the lights, and I let the kids put on all the ornaments. This year I let them do it all by themselves. Last year we did it together, and I dispensed advice on spreading out ornaments, high and low, distributing them evenly, only to discover that the next day they took down every ornament and piled them all on a single branch in DZ's reach to make the most beautiful branch ever. It was awesome. And they kept playing with the outside ornaments well into Spring. So this year I let them just do it their way to begin with. =) Every time I tied a string onto an ornament and gave it to DZ to take outside and hang, he'd say, "The tree is going to be so pretty!" =) Such fun!
