December 25th: Christmas!
Christmas was so wonderful! We spent it at home, together, enjoying each other. Somehow Serenity managed to get into our bed in the night, without us knowing it and without seeing her presents. Eric went to the living room so DZ wouldn't wake alone, and Maia and I snuggled and nursed again in the chair while we waited for everyone to wake up. When Serenity woke up, after some sister snuggles, we went to the couch and cuddled until Donovan woke up. This means we did the presents under the tree, saving the stage for last, which was ideal =)
The kids loved everything! I think they played at least a little bit with every single toy today. They galloped around on their ponies, Serenity did her Goldie Blox set, Donovan whacked his batman socker bopper, just everything! At one point Donovan used his stick pony to whack the Batman while looking through the binoculars in his stocking. Too cute! Serenity said her favorite present was the Goldie Blox set. Donovan said he liked the guitar best! I really need someone to tune that thing. They ate the candy from their stocking, which I managed to keep to a portion small enough I didn't have to police it. Jellybeans and fruit snacks for Serenity, mini M&M's for Donovan.
For Christmas breakfast, we made Christmas tree waffles. I dyed them green, and we used orange slices for a star and strawberries for ornaments. The kids ate the ornaments and stars and wanted to redecorate before they ate the waffle part. =) So fun!
We took a few pictures of Maia with her new deer stuffed toy from her stocking in a red and white hat to be festive =) She's a week old today! She's such a contented baby. She eats pretty often since she still falls asleep in ten to fifteen minutes, but that's ok. Serenity and Donovan were snackers too. =) She gets lots of snuggles from everyone. Serenity and Donovan both check in with her after every activity. She's starting to have more alert times, which means silly chatter from Mama, and more tummy time with Daddy. She's so little! I just love the way they cuddle on your chest at this age. I am so blessed to have her =)
We ended the evening with another performance on the stage. Daddy was the emcee, and Serenity and Donovan sang Christmas carols, some classics and some Serenity made up on the spot. Donovan sang a lot of ABC's. Serenity danced and twirled, but never tripped over the mic cord. They loved jumping out from behind the curtain to perform. And they loved the fancy lightbulb that changes colors. Serenity always wanted it to be pink or purple of course. (I think that was Eric's favorite part of the stage playset, when he put it together he came in where I was feeding Maia and said, "this is SO COOL!!" in all caps. =) I took a lot of movies... filled my ten gig memory card actually. Wow. =) Such happy memories!
