December 23rd: Home Movies!
Every year I put together a dvd of our home movies so we can watch them together. We don't take a whole lot of movies in the course of a year, but it's so much fun to watch the little clips together. The kids actually sat through the whole thing this year. (Even Maia, but she doesn't have much choice ;) I picked up some special popcorn from the popcorn store, and we shared the popcorn and enjoyed the show! Other than that, we enjoyed a low-key day at home. We ate leftovers fixed by various family members, enjoyed crafts and toys from Christmas at Papa's, and played some games together. We had read a book, Merry Christmas Mouse, where Mouse decorates his Christmas tree. Well, he has reindeer ornaments on his tree, and we don't, so we did a quick handprint reindeer craft. We tried to get Maia's handprint, but that's nearly impossible so she did a footprint reindeer =) Eric built one of his crazy slides upstairs so the kids got to enjoy sliding and jumping around like crazy. A lovely day!
Maia seems a lot more alert today. I didn't have to wake her up for every feeding, and she was alert enough to get a couple of tummy times with Daddy! He just adores doing tummy time. It's so fun. He has to work to get his spot by the baby, as both siblings want to watch as well! They are doing really well with the baby. Of course, having Daddy home all day long means they are getting more attention than they would on a normal week day. I just love it. It's almost like a Christmas break from school, being all home together for days around the holidays. I'm treasuring every minute.
