December 21st: Christmas with Mom
Today was our celebration with Mom's side of the family. Most of my brothers, sister, and their children all got together at Jen's house for a big party! My sister made amazing Mexican food, and we all visited and played games and snuggled kids. We got to see the plans for Don and Mary's house, which are spectacular. I really love their studio, especially the closet with the carts to hold different types of craft supplies they can just wheel out when they want it!
Most of the day went really well, especially considering how late my kids had stayed up the night before. Don made the mistake of asking Donovan if he was sleepy at one point, and got to experience DZ in full meltdown mode, but other than that, they managed to have great fun all day!
The night before, I was trying to text Eric to come change Maia's diaper for about ten minutes before I realized I was actually texting Mom. Poor Mom, she even apologized for not being able to drive across town at 1am to change a diaper. Well, when Eric talked to her it was even funnier from Mom's side. She was very confused, and just thought, "there's no way I'm waking Casey up to tell him I'm going to change a diaper, and if I just disappear from the house they'll think I've gone crazy!"
