December 13th: Crafts and Winter Concert!
Today was Serenity's Winter Concert for school. She was so excited. She made Donovan rehearse with her quite a bit. The advent activity was necklace beading because I thought she'd like a new accessory to wear with her fancy dress. She was thrilled and did a great job. By that I mean she actually finished without asking me to do it for her. =) Donovan got beads too and he ended up getting some help from both of us. I'm actually a little surprised that he can put as many beads on as he did. Pretty good with the fine motor skills! The concert was adorable. Serenity was actually singing and doing movements the whole time, I was so proud! Donovan was amazingly good, since I went to Lorton Hall right after drop off that meant he had to play around there for a good hour and a half before the concert even started. Besides a little bit of whine over which seat was his, he was a good audience. And he fell asleep right at the end too, which is what happens when you party at three am. ;) I took the kids to IHOP to celebrate, and then we headed home! I am ready to hibernate. No more driving in yucky weather, or in the dark until after the baby comes =) I might take that back after a while at home, but for now it sounds blissful!
Serenity, Donovan and Eric played with his birthday present from Ann and John, a really cool dinosaur excavation kit. It was a big hit, and Serenity is already asking if they can get the other dinosaurs =) Donovan loves both dinosaurs and tools, so he loved it even if he was ineffective at actually breaking the clay.
