Hi.

Welcome!

December 9th: Cookie Day

Serenity and Donovan in their "Christmas Hideout" They love finding nooks and crannies to hide out in together. I love listening to them using their imaginations =) This is probably our last snow day =)  Well, I may still be snowed in tomorrow, but Serenity's school is open again.  Today's plan was to bake cookies, but we didn't get around to it until nearly 5 in the evening.  We spent the morning playing with our lego advent and pony sets, doing more perler beads, and taking baths.  We made a fun Christmas tree out of Lego Duplos, and then the kids continued building legos while I did a little bit of cleaning mandated by Starfish. =)  They also played lots of different board games, which they picked up between each one!  Without being asked which was amazing and so nice.

We decided to have a movie and popcorn in the afternoon.  We watched Mary Poppins for the first time!  The kids loved it and I was thrilled!!!!  Serenity sat and watched the whole thing, and especially loved the part in the chalk drawings.  Donovan sat all the way to the tea party on the ceiling, and then he was in and out.  He did love Chim-chim-cheree.  They both agreed that Daddy is just like Bert, and loved hearing Jolly Holiday and Let's Go Fly A Kite, as those are on their lullaby list.

When we finally got around to making cookies, we used this really cool cookie press Mom got us.  The kids loved it, although the dough we used spread out so much it was hard to see the design after we added icing.  They were really cute on the ones with sprinkles though.  We made only about a dozen and a half cookies, which is really the right number since we'll be the only ones eating these.  Originally today's plan was to make cookies to share with others, but since I haven't set foot out of the house in five days we kept it simple.
