December 5th: Read Today was one of my favorite advent activities of all. I put four new Christmas books into the advent bag. I love reading with my kids, especially since they still love to snuggle up in my lap for stories. Plus, I was the co-chair for the book fair this year, so I got even more new books than normal =) First we read Frosty the Snowman, which Donovan especially loved since we sang it. Then, inspired by the story, I snuck into the kitchen and put together snowmen donuts. The kids were thrilled, obviously, and started singing, "Frosty, the snowman, is a yummy yummy breakfast!"
Then, Serenity got into the advent bag and discovered the book I'd chosen with her in mind, Scaredy Squirrel's Christmas. Scaredy Squirrel is hilarious and we both were giggling like crazy over this newest one. =) We have a Magic Tree House for later.
It's starting to snow, so I won't be going anywhere for awhile as long as the baby stays content where she is. The consensus seems to be slipping around on ice isn't good at nine months pregnant =) We are warm and cozy at home, and so so lucky to be together. Eric even got Serenity from school and is working from home. I love having my family close!
