I haven't been taking quite as many pictures of Serenity lately... I wonder if I'm slowing down, or if it's a temporarly lull =) Only six that were cute enough for this update! I'll probably take more this coming weekend, and on her actual 14 months. But I had a good amount of journaling so I thought I'd go ahead and post =) That and I nearly went to bed at 7:30 tonight and I just didn't think that was a good idea =)

Serenity’s new favorite thing is her colors! She loves crayons now. The first few times I put her in her high chair to play with them, she sat in her chair happily for more than forty minutes! That is a really long time for a thirteen month old baby! She asks to play with her colors almost every day (“conor, conor, conor!!!” Her l’s sound like n’s right now) Mostly she takes the colors out of the box, says the name of the color, and then puts them back in the box. And she’ll line them up on her tray. Her favorite color is blue, she almost always gets that right. But she knows a lot of them! All of the standard, blue, green, purple, red, orange, yellow, brown, pink, white, and black. She actually colors more often with sidewalk chalk, I think it’s easier to make marks than it is with crayons because the paper doesn’t hold still. =) I’m so excited about my little ninja kung-fu color master in training.
Some of Serenity’s current adorable sayings include “almost” which she says when she’s trying to fit in puzzle pieces, or putting crayons in the box, or when using the shape sorter. It’s so cute, it sounds like “awmos” And she’ll just say it repeatedly until she succeeds with whatever she’s doing. Serenity says “please” with a big smile, and “share” especially when she wants some of my tea or ice cream. She still says “see me” and “snuggle,” which of course I love because then she wants to cuddle.
Serenity still loves to go outside. One day she actually brought me my shoes and tried to put them on saying “shoes” and “outside!” And it worked, we actually did go outside =)
It’s also really cute when Serenity says “shopping.” She loves to go shopping. I don’t know if it’s because she’s just excited to leave the house, but whenever I ask her if she wants to go shopping she’ll just keep repeating “shopping” and run to the door. We’ve been shopping with Jennifer a few times and she likes to hold clothes on hangers and proclaims things pretty. =) She also has opinions on her clothes. Mild ones. If I ask her if she’d like to wear her heart shirt or her butterfly shirt, she’ll usually pick one. She really likes the hearts, but some days she picks the butterflies =)
Another cute activity she’s started is bouncing. She kneels and then bounces up and down saying “bouncy, bouncy, bouncy.” Sometimes she’ll bounce on Eric, sometimes by herself. And she has the cutest little excited grin when she does it.
