December 10th
Today's plan was to be fancy! Serenity got a manicure and pedicure before school this morning, and we were going to get all dressed up for Papa's birthday dinner. Unfortunately, when I picked Serenity up at school, her teacher said she had no energy all day and hadn't eaten much lunch. They'd even checked her for fever because she was not herself at all! We still went to Papa's but Serenity just snuggled, first in my lap, and then she rocked in Papa's lap until she fell asleep. She slept through the whole noisy party! She only woke when we put her in the car, and then she cried a bit because she missed the cake. We got her a slice to go though and she was ok. She seems a bit better after that nap, so hopefully it was just the weekend catching up to her.
Donovan had a whirlwind day too. He went with me to take Serenity to school, got groceries, and then he had shots! He was NOT pleased with the doctor. He cried when he got weighed, when the doctor looked in his ears, and he wouldn't talk to the doctor or give high fives. He did, however, say quite clearly as we were leaving, "BYE DOCTOR!" He wanted to be very sure that we were leaving. He only took an hour and a half nap, and then he was up, so we went to pick up the flooring sample for our new floor and rode around while I got gas, returned library books, and picked up a cake for Papa. (He ended up baking a second cake because he was worried the one I got was too small, and he didn't want to share his pie =)
Dad's birthday was fun! We enjoyed a nice visit after school, mostly snuggling babies, and then Rosario brought a delicious dinner!
