December 1st: Gingerbread House Party
We invited Serenity's classmates over for a gingerbread house decorating party again! Rachel, who came last year, had evidently asked her mother several times if we were doing this party again, she loved it so much! Made me so happy, I just love having parties. Serenity's friends Rachel, Dannesh, Annika, Abby, and Ava Rose joined us. The houses turned out so cute, and it was such fun to see the kids together. Serenity had been asking me all week about which of her friends were coming, and she greeted them with squeals of excitement and hugs. After the houses were decorated, the kids ran off all the sugar they'd sneaked during the decorating process by running around the backyard. Several of the girls pretended to be kitties with Serenity, so she was in heaven. She also played police with Dannesh. =) Definitely need to do this again next year, although I think I'll buy icing! Mine was too runny again.
Barrett wins the craziest house award again. He put a gingerbread man in handcuffs on the roof of his house. Evidently he was trying to break into the house and steal everything. Serenity thought of putting a star on top of the sugar cone trees, and we used a gumdrop which was perfect. =)
