November 27th, Today's plan was to decorate the kids rooms. And like most plans we adapted it to suit our day =) Yesterday, Serenity asked to decorate her room. Since I already knew we were going to do that today, I asked her to write a wish list for how she'd like to decorate. Well, since she sat down at the kitchen table, she said she'd like to decorate our peach trees and put lights up on the fence. She also asked for lights for her own room. It's so much fun to see what she thought of on her own! And how she wrote it was adorable.
I had bought a string of led battery lights, so we strung them on the fort she has over her bed right now. She already had a tree with pretty ornaments, so we got that out as well.
To take care of the rest of the items on her list, we drew a tree in sidewalk chalk on the fence. It was a blast! Both kids helped! Donovan really loves to color, and he especially loves giving others chalk so they can color too. Serenity also wrote Santa on the board. Actually, it was SAnTA at first but then she changed them so the capitalization was right. =) We also got purple ornaments for the peach trees. It's so festive! I love looking out our window now =) Donovan's room got icicle lights. When Eric put him to bed he just lay still, staring at the lights so peacefully. I love the lights in there. Since his room has no windows it always seems dark, I might leave these up all year!
