Hi.

Welcome!

December 25th: Christmas

December 25th: Christmas! We had such a wonderful Christmas! It was just the perfect day. We woke up fairly early, around 6:30, but Donovan gave me his first present by sleeping all the way till 5:45 on his own. He would have gone back to sleep for longer but Serenity was awake and came to snuggle in the chair with us. So we got up to check our stockings!

The stockings were a hit. Eric LOVED his pink football. Serenity loved the Explorer Girl peg dolls that were in her stocking. Although, she didn’t want the Serenity peg doll, she kept saying she wanted to be Naiya, and the Serenity doll wasn’t her. Daddy was Alana and I am still Kate. Donovan got his very first taste of puffs. The container was delicious. =) He ate some of the puffs later as well, and was able to pick them up. Working on that pincer grasp. My stocking had a great surprise in it… Eric has given me control of the beard! For three months, and he’ll even groom it so it looks nice. I’m really excited!!!! We ate some yummy cinnamon rolls, and then went back for presents. (And Santa skittles from Serenity’s stocking. It was funny, when she saw them, she announced, I have to go potty, and ran to the potty. But she didn’t actually need to pee, she just wanted to eat Skittles. She was thrilled when she found out she didn’t have to do anything to earn these. =) The presents were such fun! Serenity had chosen and wrapped presents for Eric and Donovan. She said Daddy wanted candy, and she chose some of his favorites. She said that Donovan likes to chew on books the best, so she got him a board book. She also made a pretty plate in school for us!

Serenity helped open nearly all the presents. She read Donovan the personalized Boynton board book we got him, and I read her Little Girl Wonder immediately as well. We’d gotten Sylvie for Donovan to give Serenity and we read them all again at bedtime. She got ice cream playdoh, which was a hit. I’m going to have to buy more play doh though because we kept leaving the ice cream in the cones to go play other games. =) She said her favorite toy of the day was her school though. She rang the school bell, and gathered up some animals and dolls to teach letters too. She wrote some letters on the board as well, which I loved! I’m so glad she likes it. I got it because she told us she wants to be a teacher when she grows up, just like Ms. Parent.

Eric liked his presents, Ticket to Ride Asia and some new Fable books. He is getting me a new computer! I really need it. This one is filling up, especially with all my photos! It’ll be nice to be able to play movies on my computer again!

Donovan seemed to enjoy presents. He played with the boxes and paper as expected, but he also seemed to love chewing on his jumbles and his big present, which was the Little People learning zoo! There is an animal for every letter of the alphabet to chew on. So exciting! Besides sleeping in, his present to me was saying Mama =) Yes, he has added M’s to his babbling vocabulary. It’s so sweet! He’s really making a lot of different sounds, I’m just so excited to start hearing him talk!

When Grandma came by today, and Rosario yesterday, he actually held out his arms to go to them! This is yet another new development. He’s so sweet and friendly =)

After presents, we played with the new toys and Eric and I worked on the puzzle we started. Then, Serenity had a great idea! Going to the park! It was a completely gorgeous day, t-shirt weather for Eric. (I had on long sleeves, but no coat!) So we headed to the nice park in Jenks and spent an hour or so swinging, climbing and sliding. Serenity went down the huge tube slide all by herself! She is so adept at all that now. Such a happy day. I feel like the luckiest person in the world.
