Today was Serenity’s first school program! She was so excited, she immediately agreed to pose for me under the sign for the concert at school. When we got to the auditorium she was seated quietly with her class, and she was thrilled to see us, especially Daddy. When they stood up, I could already see her mouth moving like she was singing… or possibly talking. She knew at least some of the lyrics to the National Anthem. Her class sang a song, Hey-Dum Diddly Dum, and I could even hear her above the crowd a few times. She kind of did the hand motions as well. During the finale, when everyone was singing and putting their hands up, she put hers straight out. And she kind of twiddled her fingers back and forth when the big kids were snapping. She definitely enjoyed it and had plenty of enthusiasm! I loved the concert, and it was so much fun to get to also see Casey, Barrett, Carson and Raegan singing with each of their classes.
One more memory of the day, at lunch, Serenity snuggled into me and told me I was her best friend. Awww.
