We had fun in California. Woo Hoo! Christmas was wonderful. We got to spend time with our family. We opened most presents Christmas Eve, although Santa did bring us little remote controlled cars Christmas day. Ann took Tina and Chrissie shopping, which was wonderful fun =)
We went on a ski trip to Lake Tahoe with Space Jam. Chrissie had never snowboarded, and she isn't sure that she really did. She managed to stand up while Eric pulled her down the mountain. He did that two times! After snowboarding, Tina got a flat tire. Even though we had to wait a long time for the first truck, which wouldn't work for our car, and then waited for a second truck, when we got to the hotel we all took super speedy showers and still managed to make it down in time for dinner. When not snowboarding, we enjoyed lots of games with all the cool people that went, especially Chrissie's new Rubik's cube, a Christmas present from Eric.
We played lots of games at Eric's house. Chrissie's favorite was duplicate bridge. Ann and John had all these premade hands, where we could bid them and see if we did as well as the people in the book. It was great practice.
We took two day trips. One day we went to the zoo and another to Monterrey Bay Aquarium. At the zoo we got to see this orangutan play on his jungle gym. He swung around a pole over and over again. It was so cute! At the Aquarium they had a jellyfish exhibit. There were also some sweet otters.
Jack and Patricia took us all to a line dancing lesson after Cambodian food. Chrissie loved the Cambodian food. We ordered it family style, which is the only way to go. Then you get to try lots of things. The line dancing was fun, although Eric got addicted to one particular song that drove Chrissie crazy. She couldn't get it out of her head.
The Mellos took us to a hockey game while we were there. First we went to this neat family owned Italian restaurant. The hockey game was a fun experience. Go San Jose Sharks. The Mellos were expecting a baby who arrived this spring, little Landon Gervase.
