I learned how to can stuff!  Mom always talked about how she used to can stuff from her garden and I finally got to learn.  I wanted to make jelly so we bought a bunch of peaches.  After makin gthe jelly you pour it into warm canning jars, stopping ½ inch from the top.  Then you put the cans into a big pot and let it boil for a while.  Then when you take it out, you listen for the pop and then you know it’s sealed.  My jelly turned out to be more like peach syrup.  I guess we didn’t use enough pectin.  I later made apple butter that turned out better.  Jen and Mom canned a ton of tomatoes for chili and for salsa.
