Christmas Around the World Day 10: Spain!

Spain! Happy Birthday Jess Bair! We decided to celebrate Dad a day early, and I thought Spain would be fun since he, J, and Rosario are planning a trip there in the spring. One cool tradition they celebrate is lighting Hogueras, or bonfires! Actually they jump over them but I didn’t let the kids do that 😂😂😂. My awesome brother came to build a fire in his portable fire pit since fire management stresses me out 😜. The kids loved it!!! We ate Rosario’s yummy food, and I attempted two Spanish desserts, crema Catalana and Miguelitos which meant soooo much custard from scratch. I even contemplated an automatic whisk although I probably won’t do it again even though they were delicious 😂 Croquet, hot chocolate, bonfire and visiting with some of my favorite people. Yay Spain! We gave Papa a zebra cake scented candle and an ornament listing our travel adventures this summer, plus new notes for his memory ornament.

Sera was full of stories about fire phoenixes as we sat by the bonfire. She may have a whole new world lore outline in her head!
