Hi.

Welcome!

Skansen

Skansen

Yesterday we spent the day at Skansen! It’s a sort of outdoor museum with Nordic animals, antique farmhouses and settlements from around Sweden, traditional crafts like glassblowing, hobby horse racetrack, all kinds of fun! We watched the glass artist make mushrooms, explored an old farming settlement and Sami camp, and we loved the animals of course! The reindeer and arctic foxes were especially darling. So Maia ended up with a reindeer stuffie of course 😜 I finally found the perfect dalahest picture 🥰

This little bird had NO fear! It hopped right on to Sera’s plate to peck at her waffle! 😳🤩🥰

Gardar and Jorund erected this stone in memory of their nephews Arnmund and Ingemund.

Bear hugs 🥰

The Sami are a nomadic people that traditionally followed the reindeer. Reindeer are still herded in an area roughly a third the size of Sweden. This turf shelter has birch poles.

Baby Sven!
