Hi.

Welcome!

Road Trip with Papa!

Road Trip with Papa!

I finally managed to find a summer camp for kids with diabetes! The only catch was, it was in Colorado. I didn’t want to take Donovan out, then drive home, then drive back for pick up, but I also didn’t want to sit in a hotel by myself waiting. So I decided to make a road trip out of it, and take all the kids to some of my favorite places that Dad took me when I was little. Then Papa agreed to come with us to help drive! It was wonderful fun! We went so many places, and the kids got to go to two new states, New Mexico and Utah! Our first stop, of course, had to be McDonald’s! We joke sometimes that we’ve eaten in McDonald’s in every state, and also several countries in Europe ;)

Eric made ALL the hotel plans for us. And everyone praised him the whole trip because he chose really nice hotels, often walking distance from McD’s. =) The breakfast at these Hampton Inns was DELICIOUS! We used the waffle maker a lot and sometimes made extras to nibble on as snacks later. They had vanilla waffles, strawberry, and sometimes red velvet!

New Mexico! Taking pictures by state signs is a family tradition! I need to dig out the pictures of Jason and me at all of these sometime!

My snuggly boy! I love him so much!

After we dropped off DZ we headed to Denver! One of our hotels had this cool puzzle! The girls did the whole thing, and there were only a few missing pieces.

Walking our Denver Neighborhood.

We drove by the mint! This was Papa’s third time visiting… but not getting to go in! Evidently you still have to line up at 6am to get a slot on a tour! The girls got some cool coin souvenirs anyway!

There was a yummy local ice cream shop nearby our Denver hotel! Soooo good! Salted Butterscotch was the best today.

Thai iced tea and vanilla!

Maia and I liked it so much we went back every day! Her favorite was the green pandan, and I loved the ube! So colorful and tasty! She picked pandan because of Kim-Joy, and I was surprised that she loved it enough to get a whole scoop! Not grassy at all I guess ;)

Pool Time! It was too cold for Papa but he was always ready to take the girls to the pool.

Game time! We brought Wordle, Upwords and Rummikub!

This is where Donovan’s camp was! Headed back to get our DZ!

On the way in to Colorado I missed the sign, so I was thrilled when there was another one to stop by just outside Four Corners!

Musicozy! I got these cool headband headphones and they were WAY more popular than I imagined. All the kids could listen to their apps, but they were nice and soft and comfortable. I wanted them because I thought they could also be slept in, so the kids that need sound could have music to sleep to, and they could be eye coverings for the kid that needs absolute darkness. They mostly just used them to play but Sera is still using hers all the time.
