Hi.

Welcome!

Denver Natural History Museum

Denver Natural History Museum

Today’s adventure was the Denver Museum of science Natural History, and it was AWESOME. The girls wanted to mimic all the statues and skeletons again today 🥰🥰🥰

Her first choice was the Egypt exhibit 🥰

Maia wowed the docents with her knowledge of mummification techniques, canonic jars, and scarabs 🤩. We also loved learning about the amulets that were tucked into the mummy’s wrappings.

Sera told Maia to pretend to mummify her ;)

They have all the animals and plants listed so it’s like an awesome seek and find! And the vignettes were spectacular!

Carved gemstone statues! This was one of Maias favorites.

ossils to touch! And Sera’s pretty nails 🙂

Water Lillies from millions of years ago

Feeling denticles on shark skin. They are basically all teeth 😂

Sooooo cool to see the scientists prepping fossils!

Mammoths and mastodons are not the same thing! They have different teeth. Mastodon teeth are more for brush and trees, mammoths ate grass from the plains.

Three Bears 🙂 (Bairs)

You could really catch fish!!!! We spent a looooong time here with a growling Maia 🥰

Sera LOVED the gems. Possibly more than me which I didn’t think possible 😜

Fossilized tree! Not long till Maias birthday trip!

The way the rhodochrosite forms square crystals was SO cool.

Sera picked malachite, lapis, feathered tourmaline, and a quartz cluster from the gift shop.

Maia made me drag her away from this one 😂 Literally 😜

Space exhibit! We did a team game that was to find and repair a satellite, then Maia took this quiz to see what space job suits her. Her job was Astrobiologist. Definitely Maia. One of the questions of the quiz was do you prefer real or robot dogs.

Mission Control! This was so cool we went back to get sera from where she was resting quietly with Papa.
