Hi.

Welcome!

Maia's Zombie Dance Party

Maia's Zombie Dance Party

It’s that time! The random day in November I decide it would be a good idea to have Maia’s birthday party, a little further from Christmas than her actual birthday and with a chance at playing outside . Happy almost birthday my Maia!

I would never have thought this possible, but I did a Zombie themed birthday for Maia . Disney Zombies though! Facebook had been playing the songs in my video feed for so long I finally decided I wanted to watch the actual movies, and they are really cute! Despite the zombies, cheerleaders and football games, I love it. I love musicals, and the themes of the movies are really good. Maia agreed to watch with me while we carved pumpkins, and now we are all addicted to the music! So, Disney Zombies theme was a go . I got Maia an alien Addison costume, and it was so adorable to see her bouncing around, cheering and singing the songs!

The tire swing was getting a little small, so the new swing is a BIG hit! We added lights to make it look more like the Mothership from the third movie.

I decorated the game room as The Prawn, the movie version of prom. I got disco lights, hung a seashell balloon arch, set up a stage and our microphone for karaoke, and of course, lots of glow sticks! I also used photoshop to make the signs from Zed’s promposal

Downstairs, Maia had the idea to make a spinner for people to find out if they were human, zombie, werewolf or alien! I got these really fun colored hair clips to go with each, and we had activities for each character. Lime green light up footballs for zombie practice, pink Pom poms for human cheerleaders, making a moonstone necklace for werewolves, and light up hula hoop and riding the new “mothership” swing for aliens! The girls loved the hair color, and everyone wanted all the colors and all the activities, so yay!

I also got a bounce house because I thought it would be handy for cheer practice. The kids also came up with Alien Tag and Zombie-big out games. We got SO lucky, it turned into a beautiful day!!!

Maia loved her party! She said it was the best one yet!!

I was really proud I did such a good job braiding that the wig fit over her super thick hair! I also watched a makeup tutorial and Maia said “You’re REALLY good at makeup Mama!” LOL!!! I’m so not but it was nice she liked it!

Cheerful!!!

Glow in the dark paint for Moonstones, and colored hair for humans, aliens, zombies, and werewolves =) Z Bands, which help keep zombies calm. It was pretty funny when Eric took his off.

Maia’s room was the wolf den! We made a crazy fort cave, turned out paint bucket lanterns from camping into a moon, and made signs! Our werewolf pup was VERY popular!

Crazy Forts are a good investment ;)

Maia wanted a hunt for the moonstone. I found this awesome nightlight that looks like a swirly planet. Perfect! It’s hidden under an led puck light in the moon bucket =)

Birthday donuts courtesy of OK country donuts, our favorite!

Green and pink fruit. Maia must have berries and I must have a color scheme ;)

Green hair! Eric was SO cute! And his Han vest looked just like something zombies wear ;)

The Prawn was a huge hit! I even made a sign that looked like Zed’s Prawnposal =)

I printed tattoos from my computer, and they added a fun alien touch for Maia and Sera!

This is gonna be my year! A line from one of the songs was a perfect for a birthday banner! I also already had the green pom banner and the pink circles in my stash! So proud when I reuse stuff ;)

Sera was half wolf half alien. She actually watched two of the movies today!!!! She never does movies so it was such a thrill! She kept saying she loves Musical Logic. She did a fabulous job putting together a werewolf outfit from stuff she had! Purple fuzzy top, and the grey finger knitting she used for her Spirit Island costume.

DZ got in some bounce house time after the crowd left. His soccer friend came because Maia loves his sister. They play together at all the games and practices.

Maia wanted me to hide the moonstone for a party activity, since that is an important part of the second movie. At the last minute I thought of doing a scavenger hunt, and Eric thought up excellent clues to send the kids running all over the house!

They found the Moonstone! WereWolves can recharge their necklaces and be Wolf-strong for a hundred years!

Singing along with the awesome soundtracks!
