DZ's 11th Birthday Update
Donovan is 11!!! It’s so hard to believe! He is still my snuggly sweet boy! He loves reading and has been known to stay up too late to finish a book… no idea where he gets that. He’s into really big fantasy series now, like the Keeper of the Lost Cities, Ranger’s Apprentice and Wings of Fire. He’s despondent when the series ends… also unknown where he gets that. He loves video games and competitive card games and he plays with Eric every chance he gets. He loves Fortnite with his friends, and Roblox. He is just so funny and awesome!!!

Back to School 2021
September 2021: Donovan set an alarm to get up early so he could read more of his Newbery book! He was giggling and loved it!
October 2021: This is Bally 3.0… Donovan just loves these giant balls! The first one was a Christmas present years ago, but when that one finally deflated I found one with handles that he LOVES.

January 2022: Playing math games his gifted teacher found for him! He LOVES math! Testing into Algebra Fundamentals for next year was so exciting! Yay Fun Math!
February 2022: Board Games! Plus his Epic flippy sequin shirt that he sometimes switches to say Eric =)
March 2022: Donovan finally got his turn for a California trip! We had planned for each kid to get to go with Eric by themselves to get one-on-one time with their grandparents while Eric worked from “home.” Covid interrupted it but now that he is vaccinated he got his turn! He loved playing pickleball at Kona Kai and I love this pic. He also got to ride a skateboard for the first time and to visit the Exploratorium.
March 2022: Donovan’s First Chess tournament! Another fun thing that happened after getting vaccinated, Donovan joined the Jenks Community Ed Chess Club! He and Eric go and play weekly, and he got to go to a tournament! He went 3 and 2 and so earned a medal!

Boy loves bacon!
Donovan loves ice cream, especially Rose Rock! He either gets Cookies and Cream or Chocolate.
Donovan’s Friend Hatcher stayed with us for a whole week at Camp Chrissie! They went to Climb Tulsa every day, played tons of games, chess, and went swimming in our pool! Best sleepover ever.
He’s so happy when Sera wants to play WITH him! They often play Roblox, Maia too, but here it was My Singing Monsters.

Donovan got his first laptop for Christmas, with help from Papa!

This was a hilarious moment. Eric said to Donovan, you’re being a little obtuse. And Donovan fired back immediately “Yeah, if I’m obtuse, you’re a right angle.” And followed it with the L for loser sign on his forehead. lol!

Donovan’s teacher told us he was a joy to teach! The day we went in for his student-led conference, his name was on the board. When I asked him why, he said his class voted him MVP of the week. So I bribed him for this picture. =)
Since Donovan has a phone, occasionally I get texts! And some of them are hilarious, like this awesome discovery that he is St. Patrick’s day proof!

Freshly redecorated room for his 10th birthday! He picked a beautiful green color, we got him a new bean bag to make his wings of fire blankie pop, and we reorganized everything! It’s beautiful!!!
