Donovan Fall 2022

Around my birthday I started reading the Percy Jackson series aloud, just to see if we could read it as a family like we did Harry Potter. Well, since everyone had read a different number of books in those series, Sera lost interest and wandered away for quiet time, and Donovan was SO interested he couldn’t wait for me to reread the first book and a half that he had read on his own. This time, he kept reading until he read EVERY Rick Riordan book I own! It was EPIC! I love it SO much. He took them to school to read during free reading, he had books around him in bed, he could not be apart from them. Sooooo awesome.

Soccer is back! Yay Fall Ball! Several of our team members aged up, so we got combined with another team. This set of boys voted for a different name, so instead of Fire and Ice dragons we are… Banana Dragons! And their cheer is “POTASSIUM!!!!” It is hilarious and was voted for by a strong majority! Donovan loves playing Left Mid, and he’s thrilled that not too many of his teammates want that position so he gets it most of the time! He’s even trying Goalie occasionally. The team is pretty full so they don’t get quite as much playtime as they might like, but they are having so much fun! They won their first game and are doing so much passing!

There were lots of exciting band events in Tulsa this fall, so we got lots of Everett time! DZ was thrilled, they are great buddies.

Donovan won THIRD PLACE in a chess tournament! So much fun! Of course he wore his wolf ears and wolf shirt! =)
