Bunny Hunt
April 3rd: Bunny Hunt Day! In honor of this event I took down the last Christmas decorations . Or transformed them into a spring village . Each house had clues leading to bunnies and codes to unlock their Easter baskets. We did cryptograms, zoomed in pictures, and maps, plus some of my favorite word locks and the direction locks. So much fun!!! The kids collected their bunnies and got a puzzle that when they decoded it said Count Color Eggs. Maia figured out that the lights on the houses told you the order to put the number in the lock on the door!! So fun!
Zoomed in pics. It took Serenity awhile to find the pulley one. It was a close up of her rock tumbler
Maia decoded Robot Turtles in her cryptogram, and then she unscrambled the rainbow letter stickers on her house to find the code word for the lock.
Eric made the cryptograms
More bunnies were locked in each house, along with a number in the egg that combined into the code for the vault, that had the key to unlock Maia’s room where the baskets were hidden.
They had to hunt for eggs after all! . I even hid some in the grass! ;)
After DZ wondered, “Where in our house is a chain link fence... with a tree inside” it occurred to me that we have never used the fireplace... not once in his life . That was a much more challenging spot than I planned!!
I drew a very sketchy house floor plan, and Serenity used it to find her bunny inside the chaise!
Maia got four letters though deciphering this cryptogram and figured out it was the dishwasher. Time to go on Wheel of Fortune!
Really?? IN the dishwasher?!?! She didn’t think the bunnies made a good choice here.
Patches is Donovan’s favorite bunny. Which is my favorite since I made him
Serenity only got about half the letters to work with for her cryptogram. Lots of blanks to fill in but she figured out apothecary table. Unfortunately it appears I only call our library table that in my head so she just went to all the tables until she found her bunny
“The bunnies really are devious sis!” This was Maia’s favorite bunny spot. She had to use the map to find it. This winter the kids made clubhouses out of their closets, and they decorated with washi tape like crazy!
They look cute for spring I missed the dollar store SO much you guys
Football bunny!!! He also found the extra candy left over from basket filling on my counter while he was in here .
