Maia's 7th Birthday Party!
Maia’s 7th birthday! Just family but we still partied . We celebrated her love of Silly Scents with scented pillows, stickers, silly putty, play-doh, bath fizzies, and a bounce house. The house isn’t scented . We all had an absolute blast, quarantine parties can be amazing. Maia’s request for her birthday was the bounce house, and I thought even though we were celebrating alone, it was still worth it! And they even came late to pick up the bounce house so the kids got three extra hours of fun. My wonderful plan to get them to fall asleep before midnight and get back on a school sleep schedule, bwa ha ha.
I got every scented fun thing I could find! The bath fizzies were a surprise, I didn’t even know they made them, but thanks to google and e-bay bath time is extra fun. The pillows were a lucky clearance find all the way back in August. I thought they were going to be a Christmas present, but then she loved the idea of a Silly Scents themed birthday so it worked out perfectly! I could actually smell them in the mudroom from August to November despite two layers of plastic bags, good thing the kids and Eric are all totally oblivious.
We had lots of Silly Scents art! We had watercolors, oil pastels, markers, crayons, stickers, and colored pencils, all Silly Scented! It was so much fun! And all the kids voluntarily used pencils and colored. We also made slime for the first time! And touched it! We were late to the party but the kids finally understand the fun of slime and the rest of the nation’s obsession with it. They loved it so much we got more slime stuff for one of our December activities.
Maia wanted curly hair for her party, so she slept in our rag curlers.
Maia actually asked for cupcakes! I was pretty shocked as birthdays around here have been only donuts for years. She got the donuts on her actual birthday, but for her party, it was rainbow cupcakes with crayon toppers. So much fun! And the kids ate them! Papa came to the party to watch the kids bounce and enjoy a cupcake too, and we went ahead and gave him his birthday present so he could start opening it on December 1st! The kids, Eric and I made papa a letter or card to open every day from December 1st to 25th. I think it was his favorite present ever!
The brightly colored bounce house was perfect for a crayon party, and my friend Khara made an adorable shirt for Maia with actual Silly Scents crayons on it! That plus the giant crayons and the crayon backdrop made a very colorful event!
Maia said “I liked bouncing in my bouncy castle until dark! It was very fun! It was bouncy! We liked playing with our new scented pillows in there. Bouncy and fun time was great!”
